Yaaay! We've made it through the second breeding session with Sir Reuger! The first one, Monday night, was quite interesting to say the least. It was a busy day for both our family and Reuger's so it just makes for a chaotic session. All went well though, Reuger and Bella I think were more worked up over being around a new dog more than anything. When we came in the house with Bella still in her harness and on a leash, they met nose to nose then promptly switched ends and ran in circles sniffing each other! It was actually quite hilarious. Once Reuger was excited enough he and my stud momma, Keri got down to business. Once we had a good sample, it was time to check Bella's ovulation numbers. Keri uses a cool lil hand held gadget called a "
Draminski" the Ovulation Detector. The first day will give a baseline so the next two breedings, when we check them again we want to see the numbers coming down. Her first reading was 670, so we have our baseline. Her bleeding is still kind of heavy at this point and dark crimson. She did manage to squeeze some of the sample back out but she did Ok overall.

Once we got home the first day...on our air vent :) |
Today was the second breeding and a very smooth event might I add! Things were a bit more calm and they didn't get as worked up and hot. Bella's bleeding is a lot brighter today and lighter. We checked her numbers and she went down to 460! Perfect ovulation time! Her muscles were much more reactive and she held the sample in almost completely. I always try to keep a positive outlook and attitude and I feel very good about today! Now we just have one more to do on Friday evening. After that in about 3-4 wks we will hopefully feel some lil lumps in her belly :) Stay tuned.....
