| The night we brought her home.. |
After a super long search and a few road trips, I happened to be on the website Kijiji.com and saw this cute lil face in a few tiny somewhat fuzzy pictures. I then noticed she was just in the next town over from us! I was super excited...I ran to my husband and said "I think I found her!" He looks at me and says "Well when do we pick her up?" Silly boy...didn't he know I had to send the breeder a email first! :) So I did...and a few days later we went to pick her up. Soo small, cute, warm and cuddly!! I couldn't put her down! I took her everywhere with me...even sneaking her into a few stores in my bag....I carry large bags what can I say! Bella was one of 3 in her litter and the only female. She was born Thanksgiving day 2009. So now our Thanksgiving tradition now includes singing "Happy Birthday" to our Bella and for a treat she gets a nice helping of Turkey and gravy!!
Bella is so well behaved the only time you know she's around is well....all the time! She is a super big baby and just wants to be around her momma or papa at ALL times...especially when we're in the kitchen! HA. She sleeps on our feet and at the foot of our bed at night....just in case we try to get away. She loves to be on your lap and can not pass up a chance to wrestle on the living floor with my son Peyton. Oh and don't talk to any of the other pets, because she's super jealous! It usually turns into her running to grab one of her "woobies" just to bring it over, dropping it soaking wet, on our laps to regain our full attention! Another thing I love about her though is her attention to detail...yeah sounds crazy right?! But I'm serious...if anything is out of place or new...she notices! And when she notices it, you'll know, the hair raises on her back and she's letting out a ferocious bark! Any loud thunp or knock, she's on guard! I'd hate to see if someone broke in...I don't know whether she'd lick them to death or tear them apart! But let's hope we don't have to find out.
My Bella is like another child to me..I love her just as much and I treat her as such. She's an incredible dog and every where we go people tell us so. Having a Bulldog is a lot like caring for a child...messes, behaviors, feeding, and keeping her in shape. But I love every minute of it. If a Bulldog is a breed you are looking into getting, be sure to do your research. These dogs aren't cheap....to buy or to care for. But there's a reason...if you're willing to spend these amounts of money on puppy, you are much less likely to "take it for a ride" when it piddles on your new rug. That's not saying it never happens...because sadly it does. There are tons of dogs, even Bullies in rescue shelters and pounds. But they're also one of the top dogs to be stolen also. So put a lot of thought into it...it takes a special person to raise a Bullie.....
